Help with My Account
How to Log In
- Click on the link to Login to My Account.
- In the first box, enter your library card number.
- In the second box, enter your PIN. If you do not have a PIN yet, leave the box blank. On the next screen, you will be asked to establish a PIN.
- Click on the Submit button.
How to View Your Patron Record
Your patron record page contains functions of your account.
- Login to My Account using the steps in "How to Log In to View Your Account".
- Your patron record will show immediately after you log in.
- "Return to your record" button will take you back once you exit the page.
- The "Return to your record" button is shown at the top of the page
- If you are logged in and don't see the patron record button, use your browser's refresh button and it should appear.
How to Change your Library Contact Info
- Login to My Account.
- On the patron record screen click the "Modify Personal Information" link.
- A pop-up window will appear.
From this window you can change your:- email address
- phone
- home address
- how you receive notices from the library
NOTE!
Please do not leave the address field blank or your account will be removed.
How to Change your PIN
- Login to My Account.
- On the patron record screen click the "Modify your PIN" link.
- A pop-up window will appear.
- Enter your current PIN.
- Enter your new PIN in the following 2 boxes.
- Click Submit.
How to Sign Up for Email Notices
Do you get library notices via email?
To ensure delivery of your email notices, please make sure the library's new email address (circadm@librarycatalog.pima.gov) is not blocked by your internet service provider or email account.
- Login to My Account.
- On the patron record screen click the "Modify Personal Information" link.
- A pop-up window will appear.
Near the top of this window, you may select the type of notification you receive:- Postal Mail
- Telephone
- Select the circle next to "Email" and click on Submit at the bottom of the screen.
How to Change your Home Library
To ensure delivery of reserves and interlibrary loan requests to the library of your choice, select a "Home Library" location in your library account. If you request books and other items on a regular basis, choosing a Home Library will save you time.
- Login to My Account.
- On the patron record screen click the "Modify Personal Information" link.
- A pop-up window will appear.
- Under HOME LIBR, use the drop-down menu to select the branch of your choice.
Reserving
How to Reserve Titles
(Customer accounts owing $5.00 or more in unpaid fines or overdue bills will be blocked from reserving items.)- Do a search for your desired item(s).
- To reserve one title at a time, have your library card ready, and click on the Reserve button next to the title you would like to reserve.
- Enter your library card number, PIN, and choose the library location for pickup.
- Click submit.
- To reserve multiple items without re-entering your library card number and PIN, login before you start searching. If you are logged in while you search, you will only have to choose the pickup location after clicking on the Reserve button.
How to View your Reserved Titles and Change Pickup Location
- Login to My Account.
- Click the Reserved Items button.
- You will see a list of the titles you have reserved along with the status and pickup location of each item.
- You may change the pickup location by using the drop down menu.
How to Remove Selected Titles from your Reserved Items List
- Login to My Account.
- Click the Reserved Items button.
- Click in the check box next to each title you would like to remove.
- Click on the Update List button at the top.
Checked Out Titles
How to View Your Checked Out Titles
- Login to My Account.
- Click on the Checked Out Items button. If the button does not appear, you do not have any items checked out.
- You will see a list of the titles you have checked out and when they are due back to the library.
How to Renew Your Checked Out Titles
- You may renew items yourself, IF:
- You have not exceeded the renewal limit.
- No one else has requested the item.
Most materials may be renewed four times.
- Login to My Account
- Click on the Checked Out Items button.
- A list will appear with the items you have checked out.
- Under the Renew column, check the box next to the title(s) you'd like to renew and click on the Renew Selected Items button.
- If you'd like renew all of your items, click on the Renew All button at the top of your list.
How to View Your Overdue Fines and Bills
This will display a list of any materials on which you owe fines. Information such as title and author will be displayed along with the amount and reason for the fine.- Login to My Account.
- Click on the Unpaid Fines button.
- If the link does not appear, you do not have any fines.
Your Reading History
You may choose to keep a list of titles you have checked out in the past. You may remove some or all of the titles on your list and you may stop the service at any time.
To protect your privacy this service is optional. Please see our Library Confidentiality Policy (PDF) for more information about the confidentiality of your library record.
Please note: Some versions of Internet Explorer may not allow you to delete all titles. This is a known issue that is scheduled to be repaired in the next software upgrade.
To begin keeping your reading history:
- Login to My Account.
- Click on the "My Reading History" button.
- Click on the "Turn On Reading History" link.
- The library will begin to keep a list of titles you check out after you have enabled your reading history. The library can't retrieve titles you have checked out before you enabled your reading history.
To delete some or all of the titles in your reading history:
- Login to My Account.
- Click on the "My Reading History" button.
- To delete ALL of the titles in your reading history, click the "Delete All Titles" link. Caution: Once the titles have been deleted, they cannot be retrieved.
- To delete SOME of the titles in your reading history, click in the check box next to the title(s) you want to delete. Click the "Delete Selected Titles" link.
To turn off the reading history service:
- Login to My Account.
- Click on the "My Reading History" button.
- First, you must delete all of the titles in your reading history. Use the instructions above.
- Once all titles have been deleted, click the "Turn Off Reading History" link.
How to Show Messages
Displays any messages from the library regarding your account. If the link does not appear, you do not have any messages.
Search the Catalog
Click the Search Catalog button to search the catalog just as you normally would. The difference is that you are "logged in". If you'd like to place holds, you will not have to enter your library card number and PIN for each request. You will only choose the pickup location.
You will also have the option to add a catalog search to Preferred Searches.
Preferred Searches
Preferred Searches allows you to save a catalog search for easy reference and to look again in future visits. For example, you can do a subject search for "computers for dummies", then save the search. In future visits, you can perform the search again from your list of Preferred Searches. If there are any new items added since your last visit, you will see them displayed in the results. In addition, you can choose to receive an email notice when a new title matching the "computers for dummies" subject search is acquired by the library.
How to Save a Preferred Search
- Login to My Account.
- Click the Search Catalog button.
- Click on the Go to Advanced Search link.
- If necessary, limit your search to only your library by clicking the location pulldown menu and choose your library. When you are finished click the Submit button.
- On the search results screen, click the Save as Preferred Search button above the search results list.
How to View Your Preferred Searches
- Login to My Account.
- Click on the Preferred Searches link.
- You will see a list of the searches you have saved.
- To perform a Preferred Search, click the Search link to the right of the search.
How to Receive an email when the library gets a new title matching one of your Preferred Searches
- Login to My Account.
- Click the Preferred Searches link.
- Click in the check box under the Mark for Email column to the left of the search.
- Click the Update List button.
How to Remove a Preferred Search
- Login to My Account.
- Click the Preferred Searches link.
- Click in the box under the Mark for Remove column to the left of the search.
- Click the Update List button
How to Request Multiple Titles at One Time Using the Save Titles Feature
- Go to the library catalog. You do not have to be logged in to Save Titles.
- Do a search for your desired item(s).
- When you get to your search results, click on the Save Title button next to your title(s) of interest.
- If at any point you would like to clear your record list click on the Clear Saved Records button.
- Once you have completed your search click the View Saved button at the top of the screen.
- Click on the Multiple Requests button.
- Enter your library card number and PIN, and choose the library location for pickup.
- Click on the Request All button.
- If you want to request some of the titles from the list, click the check box next to the title(s), then click on the Request Selected button.
Change Pickup Location
In your reserved items list, you now have a new option. You can change your pickup location anytime up until the item is in transit to your pickup location. Simply use the drop-down to select a different pickup location, then click on Update List.
When the item is in transit to your pickup location, the drop-down menu will disappear and be replaced by text. The text indicates that the item is already in transit to your pickup location. You will soon be notified that the item is ready for pickup.
How to Log Out
To log out of My Account click the Log Out button that is shown at the top the screen.
When finished using a public computer, be sure to log out to protect your privacy.
